Based in Nottingham our Upper Playfied is the home of our Pinball collection which currently stands at 15 machines and is a mix mid and modern pins.
Hidden away on the top floor of an old Victorian lace factory in Nottingham’s Lace Market, UPPER PLYFLD™ is an extension of our design studio and something a little harder to define.
Part arcade. Part gallery. Part coffee spot. Part pinball speakeasy.
We wanted to create a space that feels discovered rather than advertised. A place where pinball sits alongside art, design, music, coffee and beer carefully curated, slightly strange, and a long way from the usual arcade experience.
UPPER PLYFLD™ only opens on a handful of days each month. No regular opening hours. No big sign on the door. Just a space, a collection of machines, good coffee, good music and whatever we’re currently obsessed with.

UPPER PLYFLD™ is more than a physical space.
We’re also creating a series of art shows under the same name, bringing together creatives from across art, design, illustration, photography, typography and beyond.
For each show, we’ll invite a selection of artists to respond to a brief and create something entirely their own. The resulting work will be exhibited at UPPER PLYFLD™, alongside a limited run of silkscreen prints and specially produced merchandise.
Then, for one day only, we’ll throw open the doors for a private viewing bringing together the artwork, pinball, music, coffee and beer for a full-day collision of things we love.
The idea is to take pinball somewhere unexpected.
To put it in front of people who might never normally walk into a pinball arcade. To blur the line between arcade culture and contemporary creative culture. And to build something that feels less like an exhibition and more like a scene.
The first PLYFLD™ art show lands in February 2027.
We’re currently putting together the first line-up and looking for creatives who want to get involved.
If that sounds like your kind of thing, get in touch.
